Envato Elements alternatives
Envato Elements is a bundle: footage, templates, music, graphics and fonts under one subscription. That is its strength and the reason people leave, because if footage is all you actually download, you are paying for four aisles you never walk down. The six options below are compared on the footage question specifically.
We run one of the libraries listed, so treat our entry with the scepticism it deserves. We have tried to describe its limits as plainly as everyone else's.
1. Storyblocks
Paid subscriptionThe footage-first version of the same idea
Strong: Unlimited downloads on a subscription, like Elements, but the catalogue is built around video: deeper footage coverage, plus the templates and motion elements editors use alongside it.
Weak: No graphics, fonts or web assets, so if you were using the rest of the Elements bundle you are now paying two services. Access ends with the subscription.
2. Artgrid

Strong: Curated cinematic footage shot in series that cuts together as one production. If footage is the product you sell, this is the upgrade path rather than the sideways move.
Weak: The most expensive option here, billed annually, and it is footage only. Nothing else from the Elements bundle comes with you.
3. Mixkit
FreeEnvato without the subscription
Strong: Run by Envato itself: a free, curated slice of footage and video templates with unusually plain terms. If you liked the Elements catalogue style, this is the same taste at zero cost.
Weak: A fraction of the catalogue. It is a sampler, and it is designed to lead you back to the thing you just left.
4. Pexels
FreeFree coverage for everyday subjects
Strong: The largest free catalogue, one commercial licence, no account, no attribution. For common b-roll subjects it replaces a subscription outright.
Weak: Footage only, uncurated, and inconsistent between shooters. Templates, music and graphics all stay unsolved.
5. Pixabay
FreeThe backup free library
Strong: One uniform free licence, commercial use allowed, and a catalogue that overlaps Pexels imperfectly enough to be worth a second search.
Weak: Lower quality floor and more duplicates. Same gaps as Pexels otherwise.
6. Supareels
FreeFree matched footage sets, nothing else
Strong: 66 hand-picked HD clips across 8 collections, free with no account and no download-registration step: the licence just travels with the clip. Scenes are generated as sets, so shots within a collection cut together, and several come in day, sunset and night versions of identical framing.
Weak: Footage only, and a narrow slice of it: outdoor scenes, atmosphere, overlays. AI-generated, so no real places, products or people. Everything else Elements bundles still has to come from somewhere.
